Scholarships and Faculty Evaluation at PPGHIS
1) Scholarship Committee – Operational Criteria
1. Scholarships
Scholarships granted by the PPGHIS include all financial aid distributed by funding agencies through allocated quotas.
Single Paragraph – Scholarships obtained by advisors or students themselves are not included in this regulation and are governed by the rules of the respective funding agency.
2. Applicants
All students regularly enrolled and ranked in the admission process are eligible applicants.
3. Ranking Criteria
Candidates will be ranked according to the following criteria, in the order listed:
1. Commitment to studies, prioritizing graduate students who can fully dedicate themselves to the master’s or doctoral program.
2. Status as a newly admitted student.
3. Status as a veteran student, in cases where there are surplus scholarships and newly admitted students have already been awarded.
4. Ranking of candidates in the PPGHIS admission selection process.
4. Scholarship Suspension
Scholarship holders will be re-evaluated annually and may have their scholarships suspended at the discretion of the committee, provided the decision is ratified by the Graduate Program Council.
Single Paragraph – The redistribution of scholarships must follow the same ranking criteria outlined in item 3.
5. Scholarship Duration
Regardless of the funding agency’s timeline, scholarships will be suspended after 24 months of enrollment for master’s students and 48 months for doctoral students.
6. Obligations of Scholarship Holders
1. Submit their dissertation within 23 months (master’s students) or 47 months (doctoral students).
2. Teach one course as a teaching internship (master’s students) or two courses (doctoral students).
3. Provide proof of submission of one scientific article to a journal with a CAPES QUALIS rating (master’s students) or two articles (doctoral students).
4. Provide proof of publication of two full papers in conference proceedings (master’s students) or four papers (doctoral students).
2) Faculty Evaluation Committee
a) Composition
To assist the Coordinators with academic activities, a Scientific Committee will be elected, comprising three members and one alternate, chosen by the Academic Council for a 24-month term.
b) Responsibilities
The Scientific Committee is responsible for annually evaluating the academic productivity levels of the Program’s faculty members, ensuring compliance with the triannual production goals.
