PPGHis Solidarity Activities in Espírito Santo
The PPGHis has been engaged in solidarity activities aimed at serving the less developed regions of Espírito Santo. In this context, several professors have participated in projects aimed at improving educational levels for teachers in rural areas and raising awareness of environmental issues.
Educational Projects for Teachers in Espírito Santo with PPGHis Professors' Participation:

Course on Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations (Distance Learning Mode, EAD) offered by UFES and UAB. The first edition of the course was completed in 2012, and the reoffering was approved in the same year. In 2013, the course is expected to serve over 400 teachers from public schools in the state of Espírito Santo. Course Coordinator: Adriana Pereira Campos.

Specialization Course in Public Policy Management in Gender and Race, offered by UFES and UAB. This course was completed in 2012, and the reoffering was approved in the same year. It will offer approximately 600 spots in Espírito Santo and is aimed at holders of higher education diplomas from any field who wish to master theoretical and practical foundations related to Public Policy Management in Gender and Race. Partners: Ministry of Education, Secretariat for Women's Policies, Secretariat for Racial Equality, UN Women, IPEA, and the Latin American Center on Sexuality and Human Rights (CLAM). Specialization Course in Afro-Brazilian History (Face-to-Face). Course completed in 2012. Coordinator: Professor Dr. Adriana Pereira Campos.

Teacher Training Course in History without a Full Degree linked to the National Plan for Teacher Training in Basic Education (PARFOR-MEC) and the Open University System of Brazil (UAB). This distance learning course, offered through the NE@AD-UFES, is primarily aimed at teachers from the state and municipal school networks in Espírito Santo who have higher education diplomas but lack a degree in History. Approved in 2011 and set to begin in 2012, it aims to offer 300 spots in accredited municipal centers. The course lasts 3.5 to 7 years, with a total of 3,020 hours.
Environmental Preservation and Cultural Tradition Projects in Espírito Santo with PPGHis Professors' Participation:

Participation in the Administrative Council of the Piraquê-açu Friends Association (AMIP), an environmental organization working for the conservation of coastal and marine environments in northern Espírito Santo. This entity, based in Santa Cruz, Aracruz-ES, is involved in environmental conservation, community representation, and technical and political matters with public and private bodies. AMIP also runs the "Rainbow Project," a volunteer-based environmental education and income generation program for families in extreme poverty in Santa Cruz. Professor Luiz Cláudio Moisés Ribeiro, a PPGHis faculty member, is the president of the Administrative Council.

Participation in the Regional Environmental Council III of Espírito Santo (CONREMA III). CONREMA III represents municipalities including Aracruz, Linhares, and others. It is part of the State Environmental System and reviews environmental licensing processes for industrial projects and waste management. Professor Luiz Cláudio Moisés Ribeiro is a full member, representing civil society through the Piraquê-açu Friends Association.

Participation in the Environmental Licensing Monitoring Commission for the Jurong Shipyard in Aracruz. This commission evaluates the compliance of environmental and social conditions in the implementation of the Jurong Shipyard project in Aracruz. Professor Luiz Cláudio Moisés Ribeiro represents civil society.

Participation in the Advisory Council of the Costa das Algas Marine Conservation Area and Santa Cruz Wildlife Refuge. These environmental protection areas were created by presidential decree in June 2010 and are still being implemented. The council, advisory in nature, reviews matters related to their management by ICM-Bio. Professor Luiz Cláudio Moisés Ribeiro is a full member.

Extension Project "A Brazilian Perspective on the Seine River". This project focuses on raising awareness for the conservation of water resources in Espírito Santo and fostering exchanges with the Seine-Normandy Basin Agency. Professor Luiz Cláudio Moisés Ribeiro is a participating member.

Participation in the Espírito-Santense Folklore Commission, founded in 1947, which is recognized nationally for its work in preserving and promoting traditional cultural expressions in Espírito Santo. Professor Luiz Cláudio Moisés Ribeiro is a participating member.

Digital Presence and Events of the PPGHis
The PPGHIS (Graduate Program in History at UFES) maintains a comprehensive digital presence to support its activities and meet the requirements of Capes, providing detailed information on both master's and doctoral courses. Launched in 2011, the program's website (https://historia.ufes.br/) follows the standardization established by UFES and includes content available in both Portuguese and English to cater to both internal and external audiences.
The PPGHis website contains essential information about:

In terms of events, the PPGHis regularly organizes scientific meetings with national and international scope, such as:
