Distance learning
Superintendência de Educação a Distância (Sead) and the Distance Learning History Program at UFES
The Superintendência de Educação a Distância (Sead) at UFES promotes educational and training actions using information and communication technologies in virtual learning environments. It also offers in-person educational activities at municipal support centers of the Universidade Aberta do Brasil (UAB) and other educational spaces.
Currently, Prof. Patricia Maria da Silva Merlo, a permanent faculty member of the program, serves as the coordinator for the History EaD Course at UFES.
The Licenciatura EaD in History aims to train teachers for Elementary and High School with a holistic understanding of History. The program focuses on developing familiarity with the evolution of ideas and scientific methodology in its various theoretical and practical aspects. This enables graduates to engage in meaningful debates with the academic community and the general public. Furthermore, they are trained to promote a process of teaching and learning that integrates different areas of History, grounded in observation and experimentation.
