This distinguished. Additionally, we will employ the notion of the historical narrative of overcoming backwardness, proposed by Rafael Cerqueira do Nascimento, to investigate how Vivacqua positioned himself in this interpretation of regional past to legitimize his political projects. Through this work, our intention is to contribute to the construction of a critical historiography of Espírito Santo, by studying the trajectory and political thought of one of the most prominent Capixaba politicians of the 20th century.
