Summary: This paper is a case study that consists in an quanti-qualitative analysis of 30 women murder happened in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, a city located in the south of the Espirito Santo state, in a period between 2001 to 2010. Taking as object of study the police inquiries made available by the Delegacy of crimes against life in the city, this research has as an objective to build a reflection and critic about the high historical presence of the patriarchy in Cachoeiros society, that kill woman for gender reasons - a phenomenon characterized for feminicide. In order to elucidate the influence of gender relations in the creation of cultural spaces historically violent, this paper has as objective present the victimized women perfil, taking in consideration age, marital status, color/etnia and profession. Also, aiming the comprehension of the ways that the phenomenon of feminicide manifests in this sampling of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, is also proposed the analysis of the ways that women were assassinated, that is, the ways used by the assassins to kill their victims, just as the place of occurrence and residence from these women. Besides this, is also proposed a reflection about the applicability of the Maria Da Penha Law, regarding the prevention of this crime. Finally, is also analyzed the motivations in the inquiries that explain the reasons that made the assassin to kill their victim. The numbers show the incidense of the patriarchy killing Cachoeiros woman, so that the city registers in this especific period a number approximate of 30 feminicidies per year, caused by its immense majority inside the victims residence, by the fire guns use and by the individuals that kept an intimate relantionship with then.
